Privacy notice
01Who we are
GigCouncil is an independent initiative collecting the data and views of gig workers in Malaysia. This notice is issued under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
02What we collect
Your name, WhatsApp number, age range, gender (optional), state and area of work, the platforms and vehicle you use, and your answers about working hours, earnings, costs, social protection and problems faced. We do not collect MyKad numbers.
03Why
To understand gig workers' working conditions, produce aggregate reports, and support advocacy for fair income and protection. If you agree, we'll also contact you on WhatsApp for updates and follow-up surveys.
04Disclosure
We don't sell your data or give it to any platform. Only aggregate statistics that cannot identify individuals are shared outside GigCouncil.
05Storage & security
Data is kept on access-controlled servers. Verification codes are stored only as hashes, and IP addresses are never stored in their original form.
06Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data at any time by replying to our WhatsApp message, or update your answers by registering again with the same number. Taking part is voluntary.
